Basem is a member of the Fermentation and Recovery team at ABPDU, specializing in integrating biological and electrochemical methods for biomanufacturing added-value products. With expertise in environmental biotechnology and microbiology, he previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Alberta, Canada, focusing on solid waste/wastewater treatment, bioenergy and nutrient recovery, and biogas upgrading. Additionally, he worked as a Research Scientist at Imperial Oil Ltd., Canada, developing an electrochemical biosensor for oil sand tailings.
