Hakyung Lee, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Researcher

Hakyung is a Postdoctoral Researcher at ABPDU, specializing in genomics, microbial engineering, laboratory automation, bioprocessing, and analytical chemistry to advance bio-based rare earth element recovery. Her expertise lies in molecular biology, analytical chemistry, and metabolic engineering.

Prior to joining ABPDU, Hakyung received her Ph.D. in energy, environmental, and chemical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focused on understanding and utilizing nutrients for biomanufacturing using bacterial systems.
