The 2026 Berkeley Lab Research SLAM will take place on Wednesday, September 23, from 3:00–4:30 p.m. in Berkeley Lab’s Building 50 Auditorium. Two SLAM alumni will co-host the culminating live event, where 12 early-career scientists will deliver compelling three-minute talks about their research. A distinguished panel of judges from academia, government, and industry will select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winners, while the in-person audience will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award.

ABPDU’s Hakyung Lee is a finalist in the 2026 SLAM. Her talk is titled “The Picky Metal-Shopping Bacterium.”
