Jan-Philip (JP) Prahl works as a Principal Process Engineer in Fermentation and Recovery at ABPDU. In his current role, JP is in charge of managing and executing collaborations with industry and academia spanning over a broad range of bioproducts. His expertise lies in developing and scaling microbial processes from bench to pilot scale. JP manages a team of Research Associates and Engineers and is spearheading efforts in workforce development activities at the Lab (Lectures, VideoSOPs, Training sessions in fermentation & recovery technology). Prior to joining ABPDU, Jan-Philip was an intern at the Joint BioEnergy Institute, where he researched the production of lignocellulolytic biomass-degrading enzymes using a thermophilic filamentous fungus. work, Jan-Philip is also involved with downstream processing and product recovery.
