Samuel Romes

Sr. Research Associate

Samuel works as a Senior Research Associate at ABPDU as a part of the Analytical and Downstream Recovery teams.  His primary responsibilities include the determination of biomass composition and material physical properties, as well as, mechanical size reduction, hydrothermal / ionic liquid pre-treatment, and enzymatic saccharification. Sam worked as a part-time Process Engineer for Louisville start-up FreshFry LLC while finishing his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He also was a Research Associate with Gupta Research Labs at the University of Louisville where he studied the recycle of Coal Fly Ash for wastewater treatment.
